Pelvic Floor Therapy Services

Urinary leakage (stress, urge, and mixed incontinence)

Leakage may happen during activities such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or may be associated with a sudden, strong urge to urinate that is difficult to control. Many individuals experience a combination of both types of symptoms, known as mixed incontinence.

Painful intercourse (dyspareunia)

Symptoms may include pain with penetration, deep pelvic pain during intercourse, burning, muscle tightness, or discomfort that persists afterward. These symptoms can be related to pelvic floor muscle tension, scar tissue, childbirth, surgery, hormonal changes, or other pelvic health conditions.

Treatment may include hands-on manual therapy techniques, pelvic floor muscle release, soft tissue mobilization, stretching, relaxation training, and individualized exercises designed to reduce pain.

Diastasis recti (abdominal separation)

Diastasis recti is a separation of the abdominal muscles that commonly occurs during pregnancy and postpartum due to stretching of the abdominal wall. This condition can contribute to core weakness, low back pain, poor posture, pelvic floor dysfunction, and difficulty returning to exercise or daily activities.

Pain after abdominal, gynecological, or C-section surgeries

Pain, tightness, and discomfort following abdominal, gynecological, or C-section surgeries can persist long after the surgical site has healed. Scar tissue formation, muscle weakness, reduced mobility, and changes in pelvic floor function may contribute to ongoing pain, pulling sensations, abdominal tightness, and difficulty with daily activities or exercise.

Urinary urgency and frequency

Urinary urgency and frequency can significantly impact daily life, causing a frequent need to use the restroom or a sudden, strong urge to urinate that may be difficult to control. These symptoms can interfere with work, travel, exercise, sleep, and social activities, often leading to frustration and anxiety.
